How to use Phrase Fish
- Our database gives context by displaying examples of things that might be said to you. Each example corresponds to a few responses you can use.
- Examples and responses are chosen by native Japanese speakers, and are displayed alongside their English translations for ease of use.
- Search using keywords – either from what you want to say, or from what was said to you.
- Alternatively, you can search by category.
- Once you have your phrase, copy and paste it into your text or e-mail.
- All phrases include a zoom button. Use this to show the text in a large font on its own for ease of copying.
- Some have a picture to match! Copy the URL where available, or save the image for future use.
- Shock and inspire awe in your Japanese friends with witty and appropriate responses!
